What's Happening this Summer in NYC

As promised, here is my list of awesome FREE stuff going on in NYC this summer. Now this list is just the stuff that I would like to see, but I'm sure if you go to some of the sites I've linked and sniff around that you'll find some more fantastic events that will make your summer more enjoyable. July 2009

Bon Jovi Tribute Concert @ Forest Park* // Wed, July 8th, 7:30pm // Free

OMG - Matt & Kim!! I love these two. First, they are too cute. Second, their songs are catchy... I'm sure that you have heard this one, Daylight, which is now on a tv commerical.

Dubbed “The Teacher” for his political and socially conscious music, KRS-One has been rapping since the 80s – and his talent hasn’t waned since.

August 2009

Blues BBQ Fest @ Hudson River Park* // Sun, August 23rd, 2- 9pm // Free (to attend, not to eat) Awesome Blues + the City’s Best BBQ. This year’s Annual Blues Festival promises to be better than ever featuring the hottest blues artists. While you enjoy the music amazing local BBQ restaurants will sell their specialties.



Summer 2009

Big City Fishing@ Hudson River Park* // All Summer Long! // Free

This takes place on Weekends from Memorial Day through Labor Day - Tuesday through Sunday in July and August 10:00 am – 4:30 pm

Kayaking on the Hudson @ Riverside Park South* // Sat & Sun, Thru October 11th, 10am-5pm // Free

Join the Downtown Boathouse for 20-minute instructional paddles and explore the Hudson River firsthand. Please wear a bathing suit or shorts and a t-shirt, and know how to swim. Weather permitting. Kayaking will be available Saturdays & Sundays, May 16 – October 11. No registration required. THIS IS A FREE ACTIVITY.
